You KNOW You're A Celebrity When The Competition Advertises On Your Name

19/5/2020.  When you do a search on Google, the first few results are usually paid advertising - i.e. someone has paid money to have their advert appear at the top of the results page.  Adverts are easy to spot, because there's a bold "Ad" at the top left.

Advertisers work out what their target market is searching for, and then 'buy' those search terms so that relevant ads appear.  For instance, you might buy the term "buy washing machine" if you were a seller of domestic appliances.

So I was very flattered to be told today that a financial advisory firm here in UAE rates me highly enough to be advertising on my name!

A celebrity indeed, thanks Tim.
